WMS（Warehouse Management System) is the software designed to support and optimize warehouse functionality such as inbound, outbound, warehouse allocation, inventory allocation etc. It manages the warehouse daily planning, batch management, materials checking, quality management etc., to track the warehouse logistics cost with transparent information system. WMS can work independently to handle stock management or can combine with other ERP system thus can provide more efficient and transparent logistics management.

Warehouse automation system can roughly be divided into three levels. The top level is WMS, handling the warehouse business operation logic; the bottom level is for specific logistics automation equipment, such as ASRA, AGV systems, etc.; WCS is in the middle layer between WMS and logistics equipment.
